Beta is a term used to describe the development stage of a piece of software.

To break it down further:

Beta = not commercially viable (production, solid, stable, etc.)

Why release something that is not yet commercially viable?

Short Answer: To Learn.

• If we do it right, we will learn from you.
• What we learn could help us figure out what to build next.
• In addition to learning about our product, we will learn about you - our potential customers.

This is our third time building software.

We failed the first time.

We saw some success with our second product...but eventually failed again.

We're back again :)
